Individual Therapy
What is Individual Therapy?
Individual therapy is a space dedicated entirely to you. It centers on your thoughts, emotions, experiences, and goals. You don’t need to have a specific diagnosis or be in crisis to benefit. Therapy can support anyone who wants to better understand themselves, improve their relationships, or navigate life with more clarity and intention.
At Manifest Psychotherapy and Wellness, we are an LGBTQIA+ owned and operated practice. We offer therapy that is inclusive, affirming, and grounded in the understanding that identity, lived experience, and systemic factors all shape mental health.
Seeking therapy is not a sign of weakness. It reflects that you value your well-being and the quality of your life.
More than “Just Talking”
Therapy is not just about discussing problems. It is an active, collaborative process that helps you build insight and develop practical tools for change.
A qualified therapist can support you in:
Understanding how your mind processes experiences and emotions
Learning effective ways to navigate and regulate emotions
Building healthier habits and behaviors
Shifting your relationship with your thoughts
Developing personalized coping strategies that fit your life
We also hold space for how systems of oppression, marginalization, and identity-based stress can impact your internal world and relationships.
Our Approach to Care
We take a holistic and affirming approach to wellness, recognizing that mental health is deeply connected to your physical, emotional, relational, and social context.
As an LGBTQIA+ owned practice, we are committed to creating a space where all identities are seen, supported, and empowered. Your therapy is shaped by your lived experience, not separated from it.
Your work in therapy is collaborative and tailored specifically to you, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
When Therapy Might be Helpful
While therapy can benefit anyone, it may be especially important to seek support if:
Your thoughts, feelings, or behaviors are interfering with your daily life such as sleep, enjoyment, or relationships
You feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unable to move forward
You are experiencing emotional distress that feels hard to manage on your own
Your mental health is impacting your ability to care for yourself or meet responsibilities
You are navigating identity-related stress, discrimination, or lack of support
You are engaging in or struggling with harmful coping behaviors
You do not have to wait until things feel unmanageable. Therapy can be helpful at any stage.

The Importance of the Therapeutic Relationship
If you have tried therapy before and it did not feel helpful, you are not alone. This often has less to do with therapy itself and more to do with the connection between you and the therapist.
A strong therapeutic relationship, where you feel safe, understood, and supported, is a key part of effective therapy. Not every therapist will be the right fit, and that is okay.
We prioritize creating a space that feels affirming, respectful, and grounded in trust. In your first few sessions, we focus on getting to know you and collaboratively determining whether the relationship feels like a good fit for your goals.
Why Therapy Can Make a Difference
At some point, everyone experiences stress, sadness, grief, or feeling overwhelmed. Friends, family, and outside resources can offer support, but therapy provides something different:
A space that is fully centered on you
Professional guidance grounded in training and experience
Tools that are personalized to your needs and goals
A process that can be more focused, effective, and sustainable
Our therapists are trained to understand how people process thoughts and emotions while honoring the broader contexts that shape those experiences. Therapy here is not just about coping. It is about creating meaningful, lasting change in a way that aligns with who you are.
